2.5 定語與被修飾語分開
定語有時(shí)太長,為了避免“頭重腳輕”,可以把定語與被修飾語分開。
1. Photographs are usually taken of the bride and bridegroom and their families and
friends.
通常會為新郎和新娘以及他們的家人和朋友拍照。
2. When I awoke on the morning of Sunday, the 22nd, the news was brought to me of
Hitler's invasion of Russia.
當(dāng)我在 22 號星期天早上醒來時(shí),我獲悉希特勒入侵俄國。
3. Few vestiges are now left of the old expressway that once separated the city's
financial district from one of the oldest ethnic neighbourhoods in the nation: the
Italian North End.
曾經(jīng)將城市金融區(qū)和美國最古老的少數(shù)民族裔聚集區(qū)——“意大利北區(qū)”——分割開的那
