序章

I'm an avid poetry reader and I think that it might be a good idea to have a poetry-exchanging thread, so I just made this one.
I plan to post a poem every day or so, and will invite everyone to share their favorite poems.
I will post a lix when I can find what I want to post already on the net, and if I can, I will write it in my post.
I will start with Edgar Alan Po - "The Raven"

In all languages?

什么語(yǔ)言都可以嗎?

I think that the rule of the forum is English only...but I use Bulgarian, Russian, some Serbian, and to some point French, so I would take lixs in those languages for private use. I don't use Chinese though...I had read some stuff in Russian translation, poems from the "Tan era"...does this mean anything to you? Translation changes things so much that one hardly can recognize them...sadly, one cannot learn all possible languages.

我想論壇的規(guī)矩是要用英語(yǔ)吧…不過我會(huì)保加利亞語(yǔ)和俄羅斯語(yǔ)、還粗通一點(diǎn)塞爾維亞和法語(yǔ),所以我會(huì)把這些語(yǔ)言的原文鏈接也注上??上也粫?huì)中文…我以前讀過一些中國(guó)詩(shī)的俄文譯本,說是什么“Tan時(shí)代”的……這是啥意思???翻譯后的變動(dòng)太大了,根本看不出原詩(shī)的面貌……可是一個(gè)人又沒法學(xué)會(huì)全世界的語(yǔ)言,唉。

He spent the latter part of his life in a lunatic asylum, here is a poem that he wrote there:

二、General Michael Collins 愛爾蘭
A Poem I learn off by heart two years ago; It refers to the United Irishmen's rebellion of 1798. they were defeated easily, partly because they fought muskets with pikes, but mostly poor organization was to blame. After the rebellion the shame of such a disastrous defeat was heavy on Irish minds, and this poem was printed to honour the dead.

莪默·伽亞謨的《魯拜集》 It's too long to post the whole thing, so I'm putting up the first three verses and a lix to the whole thing:-

Yorgos 希臘
Nice poem, I felt like if I had read an optimistic version of Waiting for Godot of Samuel Becket. There, Vladimir says that by watching on the map the Dead See in Holly lands, he felt thirsty of its blue. But Vladimir and Estragon never had a reward for their wait. Angels appeared them every night, but they were just announcing the prolongation of the wait.
I liked that poem Anna, mostly the end, which reminds me the eternal wait in front of the Gate of Kafka. Definitely my preference is for closed gates, kind of a homeopathic cure.

I feel in as a rebelion toward God - you know - God giveth, God taketh away...so he is the "burglar, banker, father" in the same time...I think it's very loaded..of course only a true believer can rebel like this...I never will be one, so I can only hear it from outside.
