And once they hit their peak, over Isaac Faulk’s rippling blastbeat, they don’t just recall their ’90s forebears; they actually bring one on board, enlisting Demilich vocalist Antti Boman for a long, hellish gurgle that emerges from the song’s bottomless depths before dissolving back into the atmosphere. As with all their best work, Blood Incantation scoured the past and found a portal to a world that feels nightmarish, new, and breathtakingly alive.
