Fresh blood paved the metal floor inside the base and gradually the little plash of human body liquid accumulated, drop by drop, to be like a big pond as more and more soldiers in their prime time sacrificed their young lives for the untoward cataclysm with their bodies scattered with prominent holes caused by the god-like penetration of the long metal-cord-like cables reached out from the mouth of the alien creature and each with only one hit, those soldiers died of the mortal penetration which never had they known of either through direct experience or indirect. Without effective measure, the base even as gigantic as ten acres for its size would probably be flooded with the scarlet liquid and a horrendous lake or even sea could probably be given birth to by blood of millions of troopers. However, no matter what measures they took or how fiercely they shot the alien creature whose carapace could be deemed the hardest material in the universe, it was never hurt at the least as all the deadly weapons from human side were as if a stuff particularly used for disperse an itch from its shell. With time elapsing, soldiers were done for one after another or in twos or threes that never had a war in the history of the earth bore the least resemblance to the battle today and the despair of facing this single creature like that of the Judgement Day was heightened to climax as quite a few more of such a creatures dropped from the heaven and intruded into the inside of the base forcibly by a type of particular liquid secreted from their bodies and sprayed out from their cave-like mouths, which was so mysterious and mighty far beyond the imagination and knowledge of all humans and instantly, the creatures destroyed all human soldiers and the automatic guarding system in their way, and marched forward tempestuously with incredible rapidity in the direction of the commanding center, the main part of the base where the chief and all his associates were combating them by operating on the defending system. The siren kept alarming thunderously and incessantly and suddenly, the final iron door as thick as ten yards were melted away in one second by the corrosive liquid of those monsters who were of the spearhead of the intruding army. At the sight of the creatures who had broken in from outside the center, all the staff members murmured their prayers as they poised their laser-blasters at them, in token of fighting a battle of do-or-die, which was like Armageddon, after which, they doubtlessly believed, would all meet the afterlife as those guarding soldiers in the base.
