第九節(jié) 形容詞用作定語時的移位
形容詞用作定語時,位置不是固定的。例如,“a happy group of people
(一群快樂的人)”,也可以說“a group of happy people”;有時顯然不是
修飾緊挨著的詞,例如:“the architectual materialization of this concept
(這一設(shè)計(jì)理念的具體化)”,其中“architectual”應(yīng)該修飾“concept”。
1. For a gathering of people from around the world, we laid out quite a surprising
spread of Chinese dishes.
我們?yōu)檫@群來自世界各地的人擺上了令人驚訝的中國菜。
2. The cabman blundered up and downstairs with trunks, and saluted Sophia's
