This work presents multi-stimuli-responsive structural color switching surfaces utilizing a micropatterned DNA?hydrogel assembly. Each hydrogel contains a unique type of DNA motif that can associate/dissociate in response to external stimuli. Via modulating stimuli cues, region-selective switching ON/OFF of the structural colors on a single surface is realized along with cyclability.

Here, helical heterostructures of GeSe and GeS crystals with an interlayer twist are successfully fabricated by vapor?liquid?solid and edge epitaxy methods. We demonstrate a temperature-dependent twist angle according to interface moiré superlattices. Our study thus paves new avenues for exploring strongly correlated, topological, and chirality-specific phenomena in 3D twistronics.

An approach to repurpose low-cost, bulk multilayer MoS2 for the development of ultraefficient hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) catalysts over a large area was established. Engineering strains in the MoS2 flakes on gold microwrinkles following three-dimensional electrochemical activation achieved HER activity greater than that of platinum.

Atomically thin, two-dimensional (2D), layered materials are considered to be ideal candidates for the solid lubrication of miniaturized mechanical devices. Here we report the monolayer of fluorinated graphene exhibits superior wear resistance due to the strong adhesive interaction to substrate as compared to multilayers.

The thermochromic graphene metamaterials (TGMs) are composed of an ultrathin graphene oxide (GO) film on a flexible metal substrate. The external thermal energy can dynamically adjust the water content in the layered GO film to precisely manipulate the interference condition and therefore the color of TGMs.
