Genshin Impact: why is it a bad game?

Hey guys,

Tonight I will post my new video in English about Genshin Impact. Why am I mentioning this here? because I read many unjustified criticism towards SSA:KOTZ comparing it to Genshin Impact and this drives me MAD. Not that everything is great in SSA:KOTZ, but it is so much better than Genshin Impact for so many reasons.

What do you think? Am I right?

Issue 1: Cross-platform

Being cross-platform, it has the weaknesses of all the platforms without having the full strenght of a single platform. I.e. controls on the mobile game are tricky,

whereas the complexity of the characters and open world is limited respect to other similar games (i.e. World of Warcraft).

Issue 2: Gambling, loot-boxes and extreme costs

Genshin Impact is a 'gacha' - i.e. loot-boxes in the Western world, where players are invited to spend large amounts of money for an abysmal change to get the character

they want. The cost of a 'wish' is ~$3 and gives a 0.6% chance of getting a 5-star character (i.e. the best ones in the game). Every 10 wishes (=$30) you are sure to get

a RANDOM 4-star character (or weapon) and every 90 wishes (=$270) a RANDOM 5-star character (or weapon). Only after 180 wishes (=$540) on the current banner you are

ensured to get that first single copy of the banner 5-star character. But - sadly for you - after spending potentially several hundreds $ for that character - it is not

that useful at all unless you get additional copies of that same character (for - you guessed it - the same cost of the first one) to enable the constellations (i.e. skill

power-ups) of the character. Unlike other games (i.e. Saint Seiya Awakening) where other (cheaper/easier to obtain) items can replace copies of the character, Genshin

Impacts asks you to spend potentiall thousands of $ for a fully developed character.

The significant cost issues extends to another vital part of the game - the end-game content. In essence Genshin Impact has a recharging 'stamina' resource called Resin,

provided in ridiculously low quantities: i.e. the 180 Resin achievable in 24 hours, allow for a 15-20 minutes gaming experience. To play more - you guessed it - you have

to spend more $. In other similar games based on the 'Resin'/stamina resource, the freely given amount allows for substantially longer gameplay.

Issue 3: Endgame - there isn't one

Whilst in the beginning of the game there are a lot of activities and quests to keep you busy, unfortunately as you reach the endgame, the highest Adventure Rank, you

realize that the only endgame of Genshin Impact is doing the 4 daily commissions and spend the Resin accumulated. For a free-to-play player, this amounts to less than

30 minutes gameplay, whereas the big whales can spend as much as they want to recharge the resin and do the same repetitive activities. Which is the core of why this

is such a bad game: there is no endgame! There is a limited number of bosses and dungeons, but Genshin Impact is a pure PvE game and without any decent multiplayer mode!

There are so many other great games where the endgame is what truly makes the game excellent, opening endless hours of high-level PvP duels or allowing to join with

other players to fight against dungeons and raids as a coordinated team. Of course there isn't even any sort of eSport competition with any rewards, unlike other -

even truly F2P except the cosmetic aspect - games where there is a significant eSport component with even significant financial rewards. What is the point of spending

hundreds or even thousands of $$$ when you won't be able to compete with other players, participate in any eSport competition and when your only entertainment is killing

the same bosses and dungeons over and over on your own?

Issue 4: biased YouTube content creators and videos

Genshin Impact is so hot on YouTube right now - I wish people actually gave some meaningful and honest review instead of the biased clickbaits. Not really going to waste

much time on this one - but is worth talking about the guy spending $7000 on a first copy of Diluc. I have reported that video to YouTube for gambling - it is still there

though and I do not understand if YouTube really want kids, adolescents and any people with a gambling problem to potentially imitate this type of dangerous behaviour. For

the content creator himself, in case he reads this, just know this: you are a danger to others and people only watch your videos because they enjoy how your idiotic behaviour.

You'd probably get more views if you just burned $10000 in flames - and probably you would do less harm to the community.
