? ?Nowadays, many people, especially the young, are unwilling to spend time reading classics. Some reasons account for this phenomenon. For one thing, people tend to do fragmented (adj.片段的) reading, which brings them fast information without deep thinking. For another, some people feel it no use reading classics, since they are outdated and disconnected with their current life.

? ?There is no denying that we can benefit a great deal from reading classics. To start with, it is significant for readers to learn about society by reading great works about history and culture, thus enriching our knowledge in many aspects. Additionally, classics provide a chance for us to enhance our aesthetic taste (審美觀) with their beautiful and unique language styles.

From my perspective, classics are a precious spiritual treasure of all human beings, which we should value and inherit (v.傳承). Therefore, I advocate all of us reading classics and absorbing the essence of great literature.??

??With the popularization of the Internet, so convenient and additive is it that numerous people, particularly teenagers, spend considerable time on it, thus making classics neglected increasingly.

Nevertheless, what I’d like to say is that reading classics will never be outdated. As we know, classics are like a bridge, through which we’re capable of communicating with ancient knowledgeable scholars across time and space and obtaining something enlightening with reference to life philosophy. From my perspective, it’s high time that we were aware of the significant role classics play in our development and got down to reading one.
