Those who are?pessimistic contend?that we humans can do nothing to prevent plant and animal species to become extinct, as in this era of industrialization, a wide range of them have been?disappearing,?because of?aggressive and uncontrolled?human activities.?For example，according to state media，deforestation, over-cultivation as well as over-grazing are making many living species endangered on a global scale.??Another vivid example is that plenty of rare animals like elephants, peacocks and alligators are being overhunted and dying out because of the cruel pursuit for animal-based manufactures like ivory decorations. Therefore, these people argue that it is too late to better the situation as it is impossible to?revivethese extinct species.
