I?work?as?the?reception?manager?at?my?hotel.

我在酒店里當(dāng)一名前臺(tái)經(jīng)理。

A?booking?came?in?a?few?weeks?ago?with?a?note?attached?that?a?guest?would?be?travelling?with?her?deaf?father.

幾周前的一個(gè)訂單上附加了一條備注：一位客人將和她耳聾的父親一起旅行。

This?note?helped?us?in?preparing?for?their?arrival.

這個(gè)備注幫我們?yōu)樗麄兊牡絹碜龊脺?zhǔn)備。

As?they?would?be?here?for?a?number?of?days,?his?daughter?wanted?to?make?his?trip?to?Ireland?as?smooth?as?possible.

因?yàn)樗麄儠?huì)在酒店里待上許多天，他的女兒希望父親在愛爾蘭的旅程盡量順利一些。

Upon?seeing?this?note?and?knowing?I?would?be?the?one?to?check?them?in,?I?decided?to?learn?some?very?basic?sign?language.

在看到這個(gè)備注并且知道由我來為他們辦理入住之后，我決定學(xué)習(xí)一些非?；A(chǔ)的手語。

I?greeted?the?guest?in?my?usual?fashion,?asking?for?the?surname?on?the?booking.

我按照平常方式問候了客人，并詢問了他們預(yù)定時(shí)留的姓名。

Once?I?heard?the?name,?I?immediately?realized?who?was?standing?in?front?of?me.

我一聽到名字立刻意識(shí)到站在我面前的人是誰。

I?had?been?learning?for?two?weeks?how?to?say:?"Welcome?to?Ireland.?My?sign?language?is?terrible,?but?please,?if?you?need?anything?during?your?stay,?just?let?me?know?and?we?will?help?you."

我已經(jīng)學(xué)習(xí)了兩周如何說：“歡迎來到愛爾蘭，我的手語很糟糕，但是如果您在入住期間，需要任何東西，請(qǐng)告知我，我們將會(huì)幫助您?！?/p>

I?smiled?at?the?father?and?daughter?in?front?of?me.

我對(duì)面前的父親和女兒微笑著。

Turning?to?the?father,?I?greeted?him?in?ASL?(American?Sign?Language)?and?began?the?bit?I?had?learned?for?him.

轉(zhuǎn)向這位父親，我用美式手語問候了他，然后開始比劃我為他學(xué)習(xí)的一點(diǎn)點(diǎn)手語。

His?daughter?broke?down?crying?and?told?me?I?was?sweet.

他的女兒突然哭了起來，告訴我，我很貼心。

But?the?father?just?smiled?and?was?so?happy.?Honestly,?seeing?his?reaction?was?enough?for?me.

但是這位父親微笑著，非常開心。老實(shí)說，看到他的反應(yīng)，我覺得已經(jīng)滿足了。

It?was?absolutely?worth?the?last?few?weeks?of?learning?basic?ASL.

前幾周學(xué)習(xí)基礎(chǔ)的美式手語絕對(duì)值得了。

Sadly,?I?wasn't?working?the?day?they?checked?out,?but?they?left?a?gift?for?me,?a?small?box?with?some?chocolates?and?a?book?on?ASL.

可惜的是，在他們離店那天我并沒有當(dāng)班，但是他們留了一份禮物給我，一個(gè)小盒子里裝著一些巧克力和一本美式手語書。

Inside?was?a?note?saying:?"Thank?you?very?much?for?what?you?did.?My?father?has?been?in?amazing?spirits?from?the?time?you?checked?us?in?and?insisted?we?get?you?a?gift?before?we?left.

里面有一張紙條寫著：“非常感謝你做的一切，自從你為我們辦理入住之后，我父親的精神一直很好，并且堅(jiān)持在我們離開前為你準(zhǔn)備一份禮物。

You?have?no?idea?how?much?this?meant?to?my?father?and?me,?and?we?can't?thank?you?enough.?You've?made?his?trip?very?special?with?one?simple?gesture."

你不知道這對(duì)我父親和我來說意味著什么，我們無法對(duì)你表達(dá)足夠的感謝。你一個(gè)簡(jiǎn)單的舉動(dòng)就讓他的旅程變得非常特別?！?/p>

I?cried?for?a?solid?five?minutes?when?I?came?into?work?the?next?day?and?found?this?gift?in?my?locker.

我第二天回去工作，在儲(chǔ)物柜里發(fā)現(xiàn)這個(gè)禮物時(shí)，足足哭了五分鐘。
