So I''''ve got the opportunity to go visit almost anywhere I''''d like and I''''m thinking a lot about a few countries in Europe (Poland, Germany, and/or the Netherlands specifically.) Not sure if I can get to all 3 or just 1, but I try and search some things and it''''s very hard to find the info I''''d like to know.

What is food like in these countries? Or all of Europe? From what I''''ve read, food seems very different than the USA; both in resteraunts and in stores or supermarkets. Like the US I hear people are surprised by the sugary candy and junk food. Are there doritos, oreos, macaroni, white rice, etc, those things in stores? Sorry if this is dumb question or I sound dumb. I know very little about other places, but do want to learn.

1、Some general things.

Europe is a big place with tons of food variety. Every country has their own cuisine so it is sort of hard generalizing some wildly different cuisines. It can even be hard generalizing cuisine from Poland, Germany and the Netherlands since there are plenty of regional variants.

Same thing with Mexican/Tex Mex food, it can be hard to find things that are similar to the American version. It will most likely be a local version with varying degrees of authencity.

Try the local bread and cheese. Most likely better than what you experience in the US.
Poland is famous for their soups and bread. Worth a try at least.
Go to a large grocery store/supermarket in Germany and check out their sextion of chocolates. It is usually mindblowing.

I really liked Zubrowka with apple juice. Try it in Poland! Tastes a bit like apple pie with cinnamon.
Go to a bakery, all three countries has amazing pastries.
Germany and Poland are very famous for their sausages. If you like sausage you should try their sausages.

Other poultry like Duck or Turkey is common. Fish is kinda common(you know, no sea), we eat it usually during Christmas. Beef is rare and most people I know find lamb smelly and disgusting(I''''ve heard they love it in Central Slovakia though).

Tesco(UK) - decent food quality, average/high prices
Coop Jednota(Czech/Slovak) - high prices and good food quality.

Not many things to choose from and not even close to the variety you may find in France, Italy or spain. I''''m sure that if you go to the expensive restaurants you can find amazing things but i think they don''''t really take care about that part of their culture as much.
