Cholesterol - PEG - SH (Cholesterol - polyethylene glycol (PEG) - hydrophobic base) is a conjugate between polyethylene glycol (PEG) and Cholesterol content.CLS - PEG - SH cholesterol is lipid molecule, is the essential structural components of all animal cell membranes, it can keep membrane structure integrity and liquidity.

Cholesterol, also can be used as a precursor of steroid hormones and bile acid biosynthesis and many other biological functions. Functionalization of PEG lipid and lecithin can be used for protein - PEG.

PEG鏈顯著改善膽固醇的溶解度，膽固醇通常難以溶于水溶液和極性溶液中。
